Everything happening has a mildly surreal flavor since Taylon suffers from fading memories that are possibly hallucinations caused by his heroin usage. One does not have to ask if the Slaves saw it the same way. When Days Gone finally opens up for the first time into the southern regions, the quality quickly and steadily increases. It aggravates me to see films as this one with high expectations, only to shake my head in disappointment. Notables: Danny Trejo as the River Man; Steve Railsback as Jaden, the bar owner who controlled the prostitutes. Here he could hardly get the gun out of his holster. He gets old after watching him do his stick after 50 - 100 or more movies? No, it turns out that Days Gone is not the game we thought it would be.
This is really a one man story about an aging outlaw played by Lance Henriksen gaining a sort of redemption in his final hours. The game is getting skewered by many critics, and I can see why. Summary: Gone Are the Days follows the story of notorious outlaw, Taylon Flynn. There are still camps to clear, but these are generally pretty tough. . That is the one place probably due to the cheap budget required for a dramatic western comparatively that the cowboys and outlaws have continued to thrive. However, one task remains before Taylon can complete his pilgrimage; a bittersweet attempt at reconciliation with a daughter, Heidi, who doesn't know their true relationship.
After he arrives in Hesperus, Taylon is mad that a city ordinance requires him to relinquish his firearms. Eventually, Taylon locates his daughter in Hesperus where she is working as a prostitute for Jaden. To fund its construction, he asks his fiancée, Lutiebelle Gussie Mae Jenkins Ruby Dee , to masquerade as his dead cousin Bea, so he can gain access to her unclaimed inheritance. Lance Henriksen and Tom Berenger lead the way here. Now, the one area that the western never really left is the direct to video market. But the hordes are the clear winners here. Days Gone has a mix of stealth, cover, gunplay, and dodging, which are each useful in different situations.

Now here's the thing: Virgil is a figment of Taylon's imagination and we learn things about Taylon during these made-up conversations. This is like a piece of real life. Jaden has followed both Taylon and Heidi to Durango.
We see the director and cinematographer in action doing their thing on set, though little context is provided for much of the footage. Gregory Tucker's craftsmanship in storytelling gives this western movie one of the most sublime plot developments on redemption and forgiveness. Some of them, like the motorcycle controls are just too big a part of the game to not talk about. For the story it wanted to tell, it was the right film at the right time. You will essentially be looking at a map of the world, plotting your course and then following a line to get to your destination.

I'll be watching it again sooner than later - and I believe it was worthy of some Nominations. They were all the rage for indie devs trying to make it big, like, eight years ago. All of whom crafted my long running love affair with the dead genre. Once Taylon decides to head to town to see if he can find Heidi, he doubles back and burns down his ranch. Wish I could get the soundtrack but haven't seen it. The quick cut editing and rushed pacing of this section are so bad that I got Suicide Squad vibes.
However, Taylon's nemesis, Legendary Texas Ranger, Will McMullen, is hot on their trail with a much different plan. Being the dramatic western that it is, and not a wild action packed one, the front of the sound stage gets the brunt of the heavy lifting. Early on, setting up enough traps and managing your explosives is both tense and challenging. There are numerous storylines constantly unfolding, but Days Gone does not reinvent the wheel here. Really the only bugaboo in this outstanding 1080P video is its occasionally questionable contrast, which could have been made slightly richer and deeper.
