I installed new distributor cap and rotor and plugs. I left port open and hit key and it poured fuel out on a rag. There is a port on the fuel rail to check pressure. Just need to install the balance shaft belt and fire it up! It would bog down until I let off a little bit then shift just fine. The car has 238K on it.
When the belt has been tensioned you tighten the main nut and then remove the 17 tensioner bolt. Found out on a forum that the distributor has an injector timing piece to it. Please be sure to test all of your wires with a digital multimeter before making any connections. How long has it been since it's had a timing belt? Should there be a bolt? Did you find the bolt in the timing covers? This time it wouldn't turn over, just crank. Still wonder how it skipped timing. The one thing I did notice, is with the original Main Relay when I'd turn it over, the fuel pump would turn on start just fine idle until it warmed up then start to bog and shut down. That will not be true if the main timing belt is locked down with a bolt? Once it starts then bogs and dies I have no spark but fuel pump still kicks on.

The port is to small for my fuel pressure tester. Codes did not appear like I thought they would. Some one must have really cranked down on the nut. If not, you could have a bad ignition switch.
