Might just be the wider center console though adding the feel. I think instead of paying for reupholster I may get some high back seats from the junk yard and finally put in three point seat belts. Anybody know of a retailer or manufacturer of first gen Recaro seat brackets? If it has the bags in the seats you might look at removing them before installing. My van was broken into about a year after I had my seat reupholstered. So they could be for sale in the not too distant future. Here is a pic for reference. The current owner is flipping it after having bought and repaired it i think.
Its just that i was recent told by a buddy of mine that 2nd gen seats will work on 1st gen 4runners so i thought i might ask around here to see if he was right. Has anyone done this and how much work is involved? I got the rails out of a same year blazer and they bolted up to the seats perfectly. It's been a long time since I did this. There are three mounting holes to choose from and you will need to cut off the taller two. Is there possibly a way to remove the back of the access cab padding to gain the few extra inches? While the miles dont mean much, i am curious if you think that the price range is fair or i could do better.

When I sold my '01 Trac when I placed the order for my '07 I never even test drove the 2nd gen. Again, the brackets are fine but you will need to trim up the sliders. Drilled the second hole and test fit again with the latch tacked onto the bracket. This way, riders are not bouncing in their seats or distracted by excessive movement in the Chevrolet S10.

When the console is up, the lid hits the metal lip below the window, and rubs. A private seller may not get one ,in that case you could pay for one your self. Hello everybody, n00b here just back from the Overland Expo and all fired up to get truck and camper. They don't tilt forward worth a hoot for accessing behind them but I never use that space anyway. So out it came 1st issue is the bottom brackets for the 2nd gen seat don't align with the threaded holes for the 1st gen, no problem, drill new holes and run bolts through.

Frank There are differences in the year models of the 1st Gen Tundras. The center backrest is almost completely upright, and you can sit on it without any greater discomfort than was originally intended, but I need to put a towel behind it to prevent scuffing and squeaking. If there was a person in them, the seat belt would hold them in place. You really lucked on the camper! Also, were you able to use the back seat as well?
