It has excellent road manners, handles superbly, and offers a wealth of technology that entertains, informs and could save lives. Yes obviously I would be looking at Titanium spec'ed cars, as I was spoilt when I had a nine month flirtation with a Volvo S40 2. Look the 2011 is not very sporty or may have great exterior looks but it's saving me money. In addition, the EcoBoost petrol engine delivers slightly more power and is £1,000 cheaper. I like the styling outside and in, especially the wheels and interior lighting at night. Substance before style Ford has stuck largely to the original car's roots, so, at a glance, it's instantly recognisable as a Focus. The seats fold flat once the seat bases have been flipped forwards adding to its carrying capacity.
An array of sensors and cameras will help you to avoid ploughing into pedestrians while drifting out of lane. If travelling at less than 10mph, the active city stop feature will stop the car before you hit an object. Only 1 complaint:problems with Sync in recognizing voice commands with my ipod. The comfortable ride and the way the seats fold flat and leaves no ledge. The Focus's manual gearshift is positive and the six speeds give a decent spread of ratios with top offering quiet cruising and helping net that impressive mpg figure. The Focus' driving position is spot on, its seats are comfortable, it's refined and quiet at speed, and it's no slouch.
We are an established car dealership based in Leeds, providing quality used cars along with quality customer service. It also reduces fuel economy by 3mpg, so steer clear of the auto box unless you really can't stand manually changing gears. But in any case buying pre owned certainly makes the process more palatable. Can the new 2011 Ford Focus Mk3 move the goalposts again? A range of petrol and diesel engines are available. There are two versions, both fielding 177lb ft of torque and up to 199lb ft via an overboost function for brief overtaking manoeuvres. It gets the same modish new look as the hatch at the front, but the rear has quite a different character — looking more like a baby Mondeo estate, albeit one whose back lights owe more in design to runny eggs than conventional illuminations. Five-door cars offer plenty of space for driver and passengers, while on the motorway, the cabin is quiet and the ride is comfortable.
It also packs an updated multi-link rear-suspension system, dubbed ' ', and an all-new electric power-assisted steering system designed to enable more precise steering. New suspension bushes and tyre for mot. Not what they used to be. The Zetec adds sports suspension, which features stiffer springs to sharpen the handling even further. Trunk space is good as well. Zetec-S is the most overtly sporting trim, available with the 123 or 178bhp petrol and 113 or 161bhp diesel motors. Transmission, and Engine worked nicely together.
This car is a great value, but, a completely redesigned 2012 version is already available, and it looks to be even more superior, than its predecessor!!! You should be doing that prior to actually ordering it. The same camera that keeps an eye on road signs also watches the road ahead for lane markings. The diesels are the best to go for but are much more expensive and there are not many around now as they have stopped making them. The Focus Sport is available in the five-door bodystyle with a choice of the two most popular engines: the 1. It will be offered in two engine versions, and prices will be £16,545 for the 1. You will be chucking it into corners like a man possessed.
I agree that these new Eco engines are going to be crackers. We will have to see. This is one of the best small family cars to drive, and offers a range of great engines to complement its impressive chassis. The pack includes Ford's 'active city stop' technology, which can automatically apply the brakes to prevent low-speed accidents. Do you own this car? Not a SportsWagon or SportsTourer or Touring or Avant.
It's perhaps not quite as razor sharp to drive, but that's the modern motoring market for you. Favourite gadget, option or accessory? Riding on standard 16in alloys, ours rode well with that traditional Ford plump quality to the damping; enough control to keep the body in check when driving on Alpine roads but with plenty of pliancy to soak up Italian back road disasters. I am getting 30mpg city and 40mpg highway. Car feels solid and rides very quiet and smooth for a little car, but handling is more european. However their firm suspension settings mean ultimate comfort is sacrificed.
Most cars of this ilk will understeer when cornering in damp conditions, skidding straight on instead of turning in, but not the Focus. With its enhanced suspension and turn of speed, this Zetec-S is a well-balanced car which can cover ground surprisingly quickly. The dealership is run by surveys alone, so the staff seem to be more interested in what you write on the survey, than anything else. That was the old Focus. I don't think you can find a better value from the top imports in this class Honda, Toyota, or Mazda. Space in the front is about average, although the overly-chunky centre console makes it feel more cramped than it is.
First Ford I've owned, wanted to go with an American. Where the Focus Mk1 blazed a trail for drivers everywhere, the Mk2 largely kept the dynamics intact but added a degree more sophistication. More cabin storage space would be welcome, and despite the improvements made by the 2008 facelift, we think the cabin quality of rivals such as the Volkswagen Golf is better. There are currently six grades in the Focus range. When used in conjunction with the Focus' adaptive cruise control, which maintains a preset speed and distance from the vehicle in front, the car can effectively drive completely by itself. While the rear seats of the three-door model are large enough for children, five-door models offer more headroom. The small changes add up to more than the sum of their parts and it still cuts quite a dash on the roads.
