I hope you can influence chevrolet to extend their existing malibu recall to cover the 2010 models that have the same problems as those models from the previous seven model years. I then put it in park. I am shocked that certain models and years have not been permanently recalled and replaced by a vehcile of owners choice from chevrolet needless to say I probably would not purchase another chevy car for the headeache we have had to endure. Which I will do and I will be in touch. I am currently spending money to fix several different things and none of them are working. I don't think that they have an apparent fix for this issue as I see several reports from vehicles ranging from 2008 to 2012 online complaining about this same issue. Just because it's a different trim, the parts would be different? The brake lights then come on when I do not have the brake pedal pushed.
The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. I noticed the issue recently while driving home from work at around 55 mph at night. The car loses power and makes it unsafe on the highway etc. The traction control light was on, esc message, and service power steering system were activated. To repair this if it is repairable could be in the thousands of dollars.
Complaint Number: 10860704 Incident Date: April 12, 2016 Date Added to File: April 21, 2016 Description of the Complaint: My 2010 chevy malibu lt 2. This problem would most certainly cause and accident. I am not sure if this was happening also as it was light outside and I could not see. There was an update to the recall and this was also done but has not fixed the problem. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
Wth out of know where this happen the dash didnt read that till my car stalled and all power was loss. Complaint Number: 10625685 Incident Date: August 1, 2014 Date Added to File: August 20, 2014 Description of the Complaint: 2010 chevrolet malibu. We live on a culdesac so I pulled ahead of our house, so we could push it back in the drive way. I will be getting a lawyer and if my car causes me to get into an accident I have given all information to go forward with a lawsuit. Complaint Number: 11176136 Incident Date: February 6, 2019 Date Added to File: February 11, 2019 Description of the Complaint: Power steering warning comes on. Turning vehicle off and back on would usually clear the problem, however, while driving in a straight line, the steering wheel would randomly start moving an inch or so to the left and right. Also, when I turn the car off and turn it back on the light is off until I start moving again.
The power steering also returned to normal for a brief period of time. Within the week the vehicle again had the esc error, check engine light, loss of engine power, and engine bucking. Complaint Number: 11172092 Incident Date: January 25, 2019 Date Added to File: January 25, 2019 Description of the Complaint: I purchased this car in december 2018, it had 123,500 miles on it. Nothing would turn on I was almost hit by cars that were coming behind me. The failure mileage was 52,000. I went to try and drive it and it would not let me go over 10 mph. This has been going on for quite awhile.
Same problem it had before but the bcm was never replaced. Also, the airbag light is on on the dashboard. I had my daughter with me at the time. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. It was hooked up to a computer and no codes came up and light goes off when you turn it off and never came back on our whole way home. While driving various speeds, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the brake lights failed to illuminate. The two weld studs that mount the front and rear side impact air bags may fracture and separate from the air bag during deployment.
While driving various speeds, the power steering suddenly failed and the esc, power steering, and traction control warning indicators illuminated. The recall began on April 14, 2016. Huge concern for my 17 year old driving the car. When I put my foot on the brake to slow down or tap the brake the light does not come on. The failure of the brake lights to operate correctly may have been a factor. When the car is in park they are off and will not come on. I was at a busy intersection and was afraid it was going to die right there in the middle of taking off.
I feel the entire bcm brake stabilty comtrol module wire harness should be replaced. This is the worst car experience I have ever had no more chevrolets for us. This has happened multiple times out of no where in the middle of traffic. Complaint Number: 10819946 Incident Date: January 8, 2016 Date Added to File: January 13, 2016 Description of the Complaint: The first time I had just left the car wash headed home, decided to stop at the park to finish cleaning the car, pulling up to park, the traction control disengages then the triangle with the car sliding image appears, a service esc notice popes up and the engine begins to run rough, at this point the traction control will not engage. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No.
