When the cable is pulled, by the handle it is tight. I have heard that it can cost between 400 to 500 dollars. I recently purchased the car, so I don't have a long history. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. Not only is this a fire hazard, but intermittently working headlights could cause accidents if randomly going out. The inconsistent issue has contributed to a recent car accident. I called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle new and was told that nothing would be done about the issue because the warranty was over.
The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. One has been fixed and the other is waiting to be fixed. I feel the car manufacturer knew these problems existed and should be held accountable for selling these death traps. I just thank the lord that my car didn't cut off while driving. There is a wiring problem causing this connector to overheat. I did that and it worked, but I've had to do that a couple time with both of my keys.
Once I got the car stopped my vehicle came back on automatically. I found a replacement connector at napa auto parts and replaced it. Is this also a fire hazard? Upon futher inspection notice that the connector to the bulb is melting. After receiving my recall notice and taking my car to be serviced, I thought I would never have to worry about this again. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. She turned on the car for a few minutes and came back out. The first dealership was 2 miles from my home. Apply a 12V power source to the 12v + terminal on the Ignition Switch, turn the key to the start position and check the voltage coming from the terminal.

Had it in twice since and they still cannot find the problem. Cruise control doesn't deactivate with brake application. The failure recurred numerous times. Where I finally had resolution to the first recall. This is not the first time I've reported this. Brake lights randomly stay on when brakes are not applied. Enough patience im sure you can get this open.
Check engine light stays on and says something about not above operating temperature when I scan it. The vehicle was not repaired. Dealership has done recall work for this twice they told me and have charged me for the repairs and repairs to my warning lights as well and it is still not fixed. Both the inside and outside handles appear to work. As soon as I have a wreck or something happens due to one of these problems I will be dialing up my lawyer!!! Doing research online I have found many other pontiac g6 owners with the same problem.
While driving, the traction indicator illuminated and the brake lights did not illuminate.
