I turned the car in 2 months early for the safety issues and they expected me to pay a fine. This has got to be the crappiest seat belt design in a car but I knew that going into the purchase. Coupe, sedan a first in 13 years , and convertible versions will be available, all powered by an all-new high-revving 4. All are a blast to drive. There are four body styles, two engines, two transmissions and a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive. Differences lie in body style or exterior design, though the coupe and convertible have belts for four passengers rather than five. Trunk space is average in sedans and coupes, while the wagon offers a maximum cargo capacity of 61 cubic feet.
It's a very fun car to drive, no question about it!! They should offer incentives to turn in the car. The handling and the performance are first rate. All have been very reliable. The Sport Package specifies a firmer suspension on convertibles, sedans and wagons, along with larger wheels, performance tires, sport seats and a higher top-speed limiter. The Sports Wagon adds substantial cargo space and utility. They seat four, like the convertible, but they'll appeal to those who want sporting capability something like a sports car's but need a reasonable back seat and decent-sized trunk. When it runs it is one of the best I have ever owned as far as power and handling.
The light powerplant--it is about 33 pounds lighter than the previous M3 generation's inline six-cylinder--will generate 420 horsepower and spin up to 8,400 rpm. Unique headlamp and taillight treatments help define the 3 Series' character, and the 17- and 18-inch wheels that are part of the optional Sport Package impart an even more aggressive stance than the standard 16-inch alloy rims. Materials are high in quality and build quality is exceptional; indeed, even the standard leatherette vinyl upholstery looks and feels better than one would expect. I have the 335xi version that gave me absolutely no problems in Chicago's snowiest winter in over 30 years and the alpine white with red leather interior absolutely turns heads. The surefooted handling and high power go together to make a remarkable ride. On the 335i coupe, a new 19-inch alloy wheel set is available, and the standard 16-inch alloy wheels have been restyled for the 328. The 328i and 335i Convertibles might be the sexiest 3s, with their fully automatic, one-button folding hardtop.
If you prefer a suspension tuned more towards ride comfort than control, want a rear seat with lots of legroom or need a spacious trunk, the 3 Series may be less attractive than some of its European or Japanese competitors -- although the Sports Wagon does offer impressive cargo room even with the rear seat up. I won't let you down. The car handles like a champ taking corners flawlessly and has torque that can glue you to the back of your seat. The all-wheel-drive versions add retractable headlight washers. It's great for couples or families who often bring the dog, though it isn't available with the twin-turbo engine. Standard equipment is generous, with stability and traction controls, xenon adaptive headlights, a moonroof, power heated mirrors, a tire pressure monitor, dynamic cruise control, automatic tri-zone climate control, a 10-speaker audio system, side seat-mounted and curtain air bags, and power windows and locks.
I swear they reset a timer on it when I take it to the Stealership so it has to come back in every so many weeks for a new expensive repair. I could go on but it would be all negative. The front seats have enough firm support to ward off fatigue during a day's worth of driving, while the rear seats are adequately roomy for adults on shorter trips and plenty accommodating for children. The 335i and 335xi are powered by a heavily modified, twin-turbocharged version of the same 3. In government crash tests, the sedan and wagon received four out of five stars for frontal collision protection and five stars for side protection. Most notable is the addition of the 335xi coupe, which adds all-wheel drive to the turbocharged 3 Series two-door. At the same time, the 3 Series is an ideal long-distance cruiser, delivering both a comfortably controlled ride and a quiet cabin environment.
If you are considering this car and if you are not familiar with run flat tires do yourself a favor and research them. This car was fast and comfortable from the day we got it. The 3-Series is available as a coupe, a retractable hardtop convertible, a sedan, and a wagon. Paddle shifters are newly optional on the entry-level 328 versions. Luckily, it's still under warranty and I have to say that the dealer has been very helpful with getting me up and running.
The 328 gets about 17-18 mpg in the city and 25-28 mpg on the highway, depending on the body style, transmission and drivetrain. The 335i models are powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the same six-cylinder. All 3 Series models are fitted with extended-mobility run-flat tires, so no spare is included. We placed the Infiniti G35 Sport above the 335i sedan in one test, but that was due to the substantial price premium commanded by the Bimmer. In addition to its more powerful engine, the 335 model has power front seats and a premium Harman Kardon Logic 7 sound system.
The four-door 3 Series sedan is most familiar, and among the most passenger friendly. The car also vibrates when going over 60. No one thinks I'm a stock broker in this car either, as its simply beautifully styled. Both Sedan and Sports Wagon variants received a major engine upgrade last year, changing the familiar 325 and 330 name badges to 328 and 335, with the later receiving a twin-turbocharged engine. Drives well in the snow, totes a good amount of cargo when then seats are folded down, has tons of safety features, and overall I can drive in all weather conditions.
Do yourself a favor and ditch the Runflats with Summer tires, the ride and performance will improve greatly. Both form and function After owning an E46 for nearly seven years I was excited to buy an E92. Other performance-minded improvements include a lower carbon fiber roof, a new aluminum suspension, Mdrive to allow driver configuration of the engine control, high-performance compound brakes, and a regenerative braking system that powers the electronics. The heavier 335xi and convertible 335i are a tad slower. Sedans and wagons equipped with the six-speed automatic and Sport Package can now be upgraded with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Beyond simply feeling rock-solid when hustled around turns, this car communicates with the driver in a manner that inspires confidence no matter what kind of driving you're doing.
I bought the car, it was fine 2 weeks later I had 2 service lights come on and a bunch of chips in the windshield I didn't see before I bought. It's fast from a dig and a roll. The 3 Series also offers paddle shifters on the steering wheel with the optional six-speed automatic transmission. Beat this guy when the light turns green. Optional Active Steering This high-tech adjunct to the standard power steering varies the effective turning ratio to correspond with vehicle velocity, making it easier to maneuver at low speeds while enhancing stability under freeway cruising conditions. The convertible's available industry-first heat-reflective leather does a wonderful job of keeping occupants' posteriors cool.
