Toyota 20 R engine has30,000 miles runs and drives great everything works as itshould. Some grease where needed and it works pretty good now. I got the 22R block and head, but that was about it. We suspect this will never see trails or serious off-roading, but something this cool gets a pass. Mechanically, a starter switch, slave cylinder and battery are all just a phone call from Napa away.
Not shown, I cut a plate to cover that stupid exaust injection port. The conversion was done by adding a Dana 20 and Dana 30 to the hilux package and an extreme lift. Putting the 20R stuff on it took a little work here and there but the biggy was the intake manifold. We shaved the manafold so it just applys presure to the plate as it is tightned. . These things rust out on the floor pan bolts under the windshield, the bed seam on the sides, lower fenders and in particularly bad areas the A pillars rust out at the top and bottom. The colors look like those used by Toyota Motorsports throughout the 1980s.

One water port on the 20R and two on the 22R. The land owner was given the vehicle with title from a friend of his sons who originally wanted to store the truck but later just gave up it up to pay for many years of storage I think he just didnt want to pay to have it towed. In 1975, the model was redesigned to provide more equipment as standard and to include a larger 2. I would have to pull the window up by hand to get it closed. An automatic transmission was offered, and the gear ratio was lowered overall.

More than anything, we love the paint-and-tape package on this Yota. Most were probably knackered, repainted, fell apart, or ended up in The Crusher. When my boy came up with a new set of springs he said, 'What the heck did you buy!? While changing all the fluids I discovered it has a rare Warn Overdrive unit but the linkage and shifter were missing. I got the truck together with a little tweaking. It ran chase in the 2006 Baja 500! It was designed to replace the Briska, coming in smaller than the larger Stout. Introducing the Hilux and First Generation Hino Motors was in charge of the Toyota HiLux, which was a replacement for the Briska line.
Anybody else have experience or parts availabilty for these trucks? I had to order an injection pump for my new distraction, and it came off of a recently junked 1981 Hilux in Oregon — so you should be able to find an interior without too much trouble.
